WeBuilt Aggieland
WeBuilt Aggieland is a residential community for
high functioning special needs adults in Bryan/College Station.
It is created for those individuals who are able to live independently and
benefit from having a social network along with community meals and events.
WeBuilt strives to provide a life-long home in a safe, peaceful environment where individuals can live independently, build meaningful connections, and enjoy a sense of community.
Our Approach
Our focus at WeBuilt Aggieland is creating an environment where independent living and community are accessible and supported for those who may not have the opportunity otherwise.
In tandem with their loved ones and the local Bryan/College Station community, our residents can enjoy new life experiences and friendships that empower them to be successful long-term in community living.
We pride ourselves in offering natural support within the community, as well as a robust set of activities that allow residents to live life to the fullest as independently as possible.
Our Story
The vision for WeBuilt Aggieland began with a desire to establish a place where special needs adults could call home, enjoy a strong social network, and engage in enriching experiences. Our journey is driven by the commitment to provide a supportive and inclusive environment for all residents.
We Build Unique Independent Lives Together (WeBUILT) believes that every person deserves to live at their highest level of independence within a community setting. Founded in 2020, WeBuilt was originally developed in Clackamas, Oregon, by Ann Wilkinson. Ann's journey began when she searched for long term housing for her son. This journey quickly revealed the gaps in available housing opportunities for adults that experience disabilities. She knew that she needed something that was going to provide predictability and consistency for her son. A home for him to be comfortable and safe, as well as age in place. She created that community in WeBUILT.
Based off Ann's vision, WeBuilt Aggieland is now one of several WeBuilt locations under development in the US.
Next Door Communities
WeBuilt Aggieland is supported by Next Door Communities, a non-profit public charity established with the purpose of growing the WeBuilt Aggieland community. It is based off of Next Step Strategies, a non profit which supports WeBUILT locations across the country. Next Door Communities works to establish this model as the standard of living for adults who experience disabilities in Aggieland.
